Coach Bishop started his football coaching career in 1992 in Altavista, VA. where he coached, OLBs and TEs. In 1996, he moved to Jefferson Forest High in Forest, VA. where he helped start the school's middle school program under head coach Bob Christmas.
In 1997, he moved to Bainbridge, GA and spent 4 years under Coach Christmas where he was the head 9th grade coach, head jv coach and coached OLBs and QBs on the varsity level during his time there.
In 2001, Bishop and his family moved to Gainesville, GA where he continued to be on staff under Bob Christmas. During his time at North Hall High School, Bishop was part of a staff that transformed the football program into an annual state playoff contender. Bishop's coaching resume at North Hall saw him coach receivers (2001-20011), become Co Offensive Coordinator (2004-2007), Offensive Coordinator(2008-2013) and in 2012 he became the RB coach and during those two years, he had 3 running backs rush for over 1,000 yds.
In 2014, Bishop became the head coach following Bob Christmas who led the program for 13 seasons. During those 13 years as an assistant, North Hall won 106 games, went to the final four twice and played in the Georgia Dome in 2007. The Trojans also went to the playoffs, 9 of those 13 years. During his tenure as head coach, Bishop's teams have set many program records, won the first ever road playoff game and has the longest playoff streak at 6 consecutive seasons.
Coach Bishop is married to his wife Dawn (1988) and they have two daughters Taylor and Rachel. Dawn is an Instructional Coach at Lanier Elementary School, Taylor is a Nurse Practitioner in Statesboro. Rachel is married to Chase Smith and recently completed her Occupational Therapy Degree at Brenau University.
